While it sometimes seems otherwise, there is more to any Open Source Project than the free software downloads they generate.  The more complex the software, the more complex the support needs.  As a complex internet application focused on ecommerce site operations and management EOS Online Merchant is no exception.  So, we are building this website to supply the infrastructure needed to support users and developers in their varied pursuits.

Visitors to this site are bound to notice that the template is a bit rough.  This is not by intent - but our priority is on releasing useful content rather than sprucing our appearances.  We hope you agree that this should be the priority.

This week we have added to our Feature List, which is still rather sparse compared to the huge list of capabilities implemented already in EOS Online Merchant.  The list is brief and to the point.  Notice also that it does NOT focus on listing osCommerce contributions integrated into the cart.  This is not the main objective of the project.

We also have added a page to report news as it is issued from Source Forge.  The entire articles will appear here to the benefit of our users who do not frequent Source Forge.  Different strokes for different folks, after all.

Another new page is our listing of EOS Online Merchant development issue reports.  This page lists the last 10 issues updated and represents a brief snapshot of activities in near real time.  If you want to see what we are up to right now, skip Twitter and hit the Issue Report page.

These new development join pages which provide essential links to project assets located elsewhere.  They do not include a forum, which is generously provided by our associates at The Open Source eCommerce University

This is in keeping with our commitment to provding an open community dedicated to the development and use of Open Source software.  It also keeps our user community close to free (and commercial) education that will help them use the cart more effectively.

This will be a common practice as we build eosonlinemerchant.org into a true community hub - connecting the principles, but not forcing all content into a single mega site.  Why would we do this?  Because you can't have an Open Source community without an open web!

Til next time,

 David
